Technology director Kody Bertram provided an update at Monday's (April 14) Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa school board meeting at the high school. Included in his report was comments on the increasing use of artificial intelligence both on the staff and student side of education.
In terms of ever-increasing use of Artificial Intelligence, Bertram said, "Including AI in education is increasing nationally and in our school district. Staff at B-B-E feel comfortable using it in their day-to-day work. It's also become a big part of professional development."
"We're seeing our teachers taking the initiative with AI, and they're finding good ways to use it. They're educating students on proper use of AI in the classrooms."
"From what teachers are reporting, they're seeing misuse of AI as minimal at this point," he said. "This is always something important to monitor as AI becomes more prevalent in education."
