The Brooten Activities Club and a lengthy list of locally-owned businesses have once again teamed up to bring Brooten Santa Day for all ages to enjoy. The Santa Day is this Saturday, December 7 starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Lucky Shots Bowling Alley. The Winters are excited to host part of Santa Day at Lucky Shots, which now has its back room fully completed in the building's former cafe area.
Other activities will be across the street at the KaDe Shack plus at the Trinity Lutheran Church parking lot, and the evening concludes with the annual lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m. on Brooten's Main Street.
Starting at 3:30, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will visit Lucky Shots for kids to meet. Volunteers will also be on hand to help with kids face painting (by Michelle Rust of Rustic Stables Stylists), kids crafts and cookie decorating - all free! Kids treats will also be provided, and a kids' prize drawing starts at 5:30 p.m.
God Squad youth with Trinity / West Lake Johanna Lutheran Parish will hold a live Nativity scene at the Trinity parking lot on Hatton Street from 4:30 to 5:30. They will have a drop-off site in the parking lot for passers-by to bring non-perishable food shelf items.
The B-B-E Cub Scouts Pack No. 667 will hold kids bingo and a chili feed at the KaDe Shack community room starting at 5 p.m. and leading up to the parade. The chili feed is a free-will offering event, and proceeds will be donated to the B-B-E Area Food Shelf in January. All this fun and excitement helps cap off a terribly busy day in Brooten that begins with the B-B-E Community Education Women's Expo (9 a.m. to noon) which features over 20 vendors at the elementary gymnasium.
