The Belgrade city council met in regular session on November 18. Highlights included approval of a Sunday liquor license application by The Spot For Drinks and Dining plus acceptance of retirement letters by Belgrade fire fighters Carol Kinzel and Chuck Ampe.
The council reviewed and approved the Belgrade Nursing Home Management agreement, which they do every other year.
Belgrade Fire Chief Jeremy Glieden has submitted a FEMA grant application for a LUCAS C.P.R. device, which can cost well over $10,000. The application period closes on December 20, after which the department will learn if they were among those selected.
Two retirements were accepted by the council for Kinzel and Ampe, who have 30-plus years of time with the fire department. Kinzel, who was accepted as Belgrade's first female firefighter, has been with the department since 1994.
West Central Sanitation submitted 12 properties with delinquent garbage bills to the city, and they will be assessed to the Stearns County tax rolls. The figure totals $1,986.41.
The zoning commission has an amendment in play to reclassify Walker Street property purchased by Belgrade Steel Tank from Residential to Highway/Business. A public hearing will take place on December 2 at 6:30 p.m. at city hall to consider this.
