A string of victories span the nation for both Republicans and Democrats
Shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, the Associated Press announced that former President Donald Trump and his running mate, U.S. Senator JD Vance of Ohio, had clinched the victory in the race for POTUS. At that time, the A.P. called the state of Wisconsin for President-Elect Trump, which, according to their count, set his ticket at 277 electoral votes compared to 224 for the Harris/Walz ticket.
In their headline posted online, the A.P. stated, "Trump elected President, his win is a remarkable political comeback rooted in appeal to frustrated voters."
