Bonanza Valley area, state, federal results: Trump wins re-election as POTUS

**Updated throughout Tuesday night, results pouring in after 11 p.m. Tuesday***

This web article will contain up-to-date election results as they are confirmed on the evening of Tuesday, November 5 and into the day on Wednesday, November 6. Updates will be added in chronological order as best as possible. Local results will not be posted until at least 10 p.m. tonight. They have to be confirmed through both the local municipal precincts and then Stearns County before being posted to the Minnesota Secretary of State website.

Tuesday 8:17 p.m. in Brooten: officially, a total of 333 voters cast their ballots in person at Brooten city hall.

Tuesday 9 p.m. in Stearns County: nothing substantial is available to report on the county-wide vote for a local sales tax option that would fund a new county justice center and jail.

Tuesday 9:40 p.m. at B-B-E: as of now, 5 out of 21 voting precincts in the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa school district have reported their school board race results. Due to that low number of precincts, The Voice will delay reporting on this race.

Tuesday 10:37 p.m. at B-B-E: by now, 15 of 21 precincts have reported school board race results. Three candidates out of a total of five running will earn seats on the B-B-E school board beginning in January.

Tuesday 10:39 p.m. in Stearns County: the local sales tax option vote has passed by a large margin. In the affirmative is a vote that authorizes Stearns County to impose a sales and use tax of 3/8 of one percent to finance a new justice center and jail. With 98 of 98 precincts reporting, this has passed by a 50,236 to 30,467 vote margin.

Tuesday 10:42 p.m. in Belgrade: the Sunday liquor question has passed by a wide margin in the city of Belgrade by a 305 vote "yes" to 63 vote "no" margin. This allows the city to issue on-sale liquor licenses to restaurants, clubs, bowling centers and hotels for the sale of intoxicating liquor at retail on Sundays.

UPDATE for B-B-E's school board races: just after 11 p.m., 20 out of 21 precincts have reported. The Voice can report that Jacob Rooney has 1,504 votes and will continue serving on the school board. Newcomers Jeremy Radermacher and Candra Lieser are projected to earn seats on the school board with 1,356 and 1,076 votes each, respectively, as of this point.

In statewide races for federal-level offices...with 61 of 87 counties reporting as of 11 p.m., the Harris-Walz ticket has 931,865 votes compared to the Trump-Vance ticket's 797,664 vote tally. This represents 49.82% of precincts in the state (2,044 out of 4,103 total). In the U.S. Senate race, incumbent Amy Klobuchar is projected to cruise to re-election over Republican challenger Royce White. With 61 of 87 counties reported, Klobuchar has 1,004,247 votes compared to White's 677,458 votes.

Locally, in the city limits of Brooten, former President Donald Trump earned 247 votes compared to the Harris-Walz ticket gaining 112 votes (67.3% to 30.52%). Royce White beat Klobuchar in Brooten by a 192-to-161 vote margin.

In Belgrade, the Trump-Vance ticket fared even stronger than in Brooten, beating the Harris-Walz ticket 257 to 100 (69.46% to 27.03%). White beat Klobuchar in Belgrade by a 194-to-160 vote margin.

In the city of Elrosa, the Trump-Vance ticket earned 100 votes compared to Walz-Harris receiving 13 votes (87.72% to 11.4%). White beat Klobuchar in Elrosa by a 79-to-32 vote margin.

Major update at 12:27 a.m. on Wednesday...projections show that the Donald Trump/JD Vance ticket will win the race for the White House. The state of Pennsylvania has been projected to go to the Trump/Vance column with its all-important 19 electoral votes. With 93% of the vote in, the Trump/Vance ticket has 3,336,263 votes compared to the Harris/Walz ticket's 3,112,383 votes. At 12:23 a.m. (Central Standard Time), the X account for Mark Cuban posted this message: "Congrats @realDonaldTrump. You won fair and square. Congrats to @elonmusk as well. #Godspeed." Cuban has been one of the strongest and most vociferous supporters of the Harris/Walz ticket leading up to Election Day.

In the national popular vote as of 12:36 a.m. on Wednesday, the Trump/Vance ticket has 66,761,042 votes compared to the Harris/Walz ticket's 61,849,079 votes.

Breaking POTUS race news, Wednesday at 4:47 a.m. from the Associated Press: the Trump/Vance ticket has surpassed 270 electoral votes, according to the A.P., who called the state of Wisconsin for president-elect Trump shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday. This put his A.P. tally at 277 votes compared to 224 for the Harris/Walz ticket. In their headline posted online, the A.P. stated, "Trump elected President, his win is a remarkable political comeback rooted in appeal to frustrated voters."
