Monson Lake Opry Festival opens for two days of concerts (VIDEO)

The annual Monson Lake Opry Country Music Festival starts on Friday, September 6 for a two-day event in rural Sunburg, Hayes Township in the northeast corner of Swift County.

Friday's schedule: at 3:30 p.m., gates open with the Kentucky Thunder performing from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Next is Alex Miller from 7:30 to 9 p.m., and Friday wraps up with Darryl Worley from 9:30 to 11 p.m.

Saturday's schedule: at 2 p.m., gates open. Music begins with the Mark Peterson Band performing from 3 to 6 p.m., and they are followed by Josh Hedley from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The Bellamy Brothers play from 8:30 to 10 p.m., and Friday's music concludes with the Kentucky Headhunters from 10:30 to midnight.
