The Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association hosted a 25th anniversary celebration of the construction of the log church replica on a sunny Sunday afternoon, August 18. The log church replica, which was dreamed up and built between 1997 and 1999, is located at the site the original Norway Lake Lutheran church was built in 1868 in Arctander Township southwest of Sunburg near County Road 40.

With the laborious job of felling trees tasked to Roger Larson, a group of nine men from the local community built the log church replica based on historical testimony from the pioneers who helped settle the Norway Lake community beginning in the 1860s. The dedicated volunteers were Pastor Joel Njus, Wendell Aasen, Myron Hauge, Curtis Johnson, Russell Hande, Charles Shuck, Harold Ekren, Marc Reese and Ed Huseby.
