Grace Denise Grindahl Milewski passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, surrounded by her family. Grace was a loving mother, sister, and special aunt. She grew up in California and Arizona and spent summers at her grandparents' home in Brooten, Minnesota, where she enjoyed helping on the farm, fishing and spending time with her family and cousins. A caring person who spent her life assisting others, Grace was called to nursing and spent the early years of her career as a Reserve Lieutenant in the United States Army, working as a nurse. Grace was a Registered Nurse at numerous hospitals in Arizona and retired in 2019.
Grace loved being a mother and spending time with her daughters, watching the Hallmark channel and M.A.S.H., doing arts and crafts, camping and fishing, hosting annual lefse-making events, and spending many evenings playing games with family.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Kristan (Tyler) Garner of Scottsdale, AZ, siblings: Cindy Dodds of Show Low, AZ, Gail (Rick) Chronister of Tucson, AZ, Gwen (Gary) Nees of Payson, AZ, and George (Suzanne Boda) Grindahl of Winter Park, CO. Grace leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
Grace was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly, and her parents, Francis and George Jr. Grindahl.
A memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, MN, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, followed by interment at Big Grove Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations in memory of Grace be directed to the tribute section of the St. Mary's Food Bank of Arizona. http://www.firstfoodbank.org.
