OBITUARY: Justin Rooney

Justin M. Rooney, 46, of St. Cloud, formerly of Belgrade, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday May 5, 2024, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm. Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Justin Michael Rooney was born December 10, 1977, to Darrell and Joy (Philipsen) Rooney in Sauk Centre. He was baptized at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. Justin graduated from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School in 1996. In his class, Justin was voted the Most Outgoing Male, and he also had the boys' title of Best Smile. Justin played running back for the Jaguar football team, and he was one of 12 seniors on the team in the fall of 1995.

He continued his education at Fergus Falls Community College. After graduation, he started working at Coca Cola where he worked for 26 years and received several promotions.

Justin was united in marriage to Melissa Mehlhoff on May 6, 2006, in Las Vegas. They made their home in Saint Cloud.

Justin loved sports and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed astronomy, 80s music, and working on his yard. Justin also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his eleven nieces and nephews who he took much pride in.

Justin is survived by his wife, Melissa; parents: Darrell and Joy; siblings: Nathan (Courtney), Jacob (Andrea) and Brady (Heidi); eleven nieces and nephews: Noah, Natalie, Ty, Grayson, Josie, Max, Malley, Paisley, Maddux, Violet and Anna; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
