The final worship service of the Epiphany season was held on Sunday, February 11 at West Lake Johanna Lutheran church in Gilchrist Township. The attached video features the pastor's sermon. The Lent season has started with Ash Wednesday worship services held this week at most area churches on February 14. Worship that evening at West Lake Johanna was cancelled due to poor road conditions that night.
Throughout the day on February 14, the Bonanza Valley area received around 5 inches of snow to return the landscape to traditional winter views around rural Minnesota.
Grace Lutheran church in Belgrade hosted a soup and sandwich supper and the joint Big Grove/Crow River/Grace Lutheran Ash Wednesday worship.
In Brooten, the local Catholic community gathered for Ash Wednesday worship at St. Donatus church.
