The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars volleyball team was gunning for their sixth straight sub-section championship banner on Thursday, November 2 in Fergus Falls. Facing upstart and No. 2-seeded West Central Area, the Jaguars were in for a battle all night as the Knights used an inspirational performance across the board to earn a 3-1 win. Led by their school's all-time career kill leader, senior Mya Foslien, the Knights took games one, three and four to complete the four-game win.
The Jaguars, who finished 23-7 overall, graduate five valuable seniors but will be loaded for the 2024 season.
WCA (23-9), who beat Underwood 3-1 in the Section 6A finals on November 4, earned the No. 5 seed at state and opens at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 9 against No. 4-seeded New Life Academy out of Section 4A.
Additional coverage was published in the November 9 issue of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper. A video attached to this web article features footage from Fergus Falls in game two that night.
