The 137th annual Pope County Fair is underway in Glenwood.
Activities continue on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 4 to 6, culminating with the demolition derby in the fairgrounds grandstand at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
On Thursday, August 3, the Birch Coulee Rodeo starts at 6:30 p.m.. Exhibit buildings close at 9 p.m., and the 4-H buildings close at 10 p.m.
Friday, August 4
The second full day of the Pope County Fair is Kid/Daycare Day that opens with a tractor show from 8 to 9 a.m. The senior craft shack opens at 9 a.m. The 4-H food stand will be open from 10:30 a.m. through 10 p.m.
The 4-H Dairy Show starts at 11 a.m. at the Jack Morris Arena.
Exhibit buildings and vendors open at noon to the public, and the 4-H buildings are open from noon to 9 p.m.
Kids games and activities will run from noon through 9 p.m. around the fairway.
Coin digs take place in the sand pile at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Clueless the Balloon Twister will be offering her balloon services to children for free from 1 to 4 p.m.
The 4-H Regional Llama/Alpaca show is at 3 p.m. at Jack Morris Arena.
The Laser Tag booth will be open from 4 to 9 p.m., and this is a new event at the fair; it is sponsored by American Solutions for Business.
The open youth beef jackpot show starts at 4 p.m.
The Pope County Corn and Soybean Growers host a political meet and greet at 5 p.m. at the Little Red Barn as they also get their hamburger supper underway for the public.
Blonde and the Bohunk, another new event, is from 6 to 9 p.m. and sponsored by Lake Minnewaska Marina.
Family Fun Night is in the grand stand starting at 7 p.m. and features numerous activities for families to participate in. Parents can sign themselves up before 7 p.m. at the grandstand.
Exhibit buildings close at 9 p.m., and the 4-H buildings close at 10 p.m.

Saturday, August 5
The day of Saturday the 5th includes another full slate of activities starting with a tractor show from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the fairway.
The 4-H Livestock Blue Ribbon auction is at Jack Morris Arena starting at 9 a.m., and also at that time, an Ag Inspirational Leader presentation will take place.
The Senior Craft Shack opens at 9 a.m.
The 4-H food stand opens at 10:30 a.m. and will be serving food until 10 p.m.
A baking contest is at the Legacy Building starting at 11 a.m.
The Youth Pedal Pull is at 11 a.m. by the Little Red Barn.
A 4-H Showcase event is at Jack Morris Arena at 11:30 a.m.; and the 4-H buildings will be open from noon to 9 p.m.
The exhibit buildings and vendors open to the public at noon.
The beer garden runs from noon to 10 p.m.
The horse fun show is at the horse arena (north end of the fairgrounds) at 1 p.m.
Knockerball, sponsored by American Solutions for Business, runs from 1 to 9 p.m.
The 4-H All-Around Showmanship starts at 3 p.m. at Jack Morris Arena.
BINGO, by the Starbuck VFW, is from 3 to 5 p.m.
The truck and tractor pull starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the grandstand.
From 4:30 to 8 p.m., the Glacial Ridge Cattlemen's Steak and Burger supper is at the Little Red Barn.
Music by the group Absolute Zero will play from 6 to 10 p.m. at the outdoor concert area (southeast corner of the fairgrounds); this is sponsored by FAST Global Solutions.
Exhibit buildings close at 9 p.m., and the 4-H buildings close at 10 p.m.
