The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Resistance Robotics team headed into the 53-team Great Northern Regional competition in Grand Forks last week with a head of steam and an ocean's worth of confidence. The region competition took place between March 9 and March 11.
With a successful build season and a brand-new robot working at full form, the robotics team felt they were in great shape after a successful Week Zero trip to Willmar on February 18 and then a terrific finish to the practice day on Thursday, March 9 at Alerus Center in Grand Forks.
"They just nailed it in our fifth practice match on Thursday," said Robotics coach Reed Adrian, now in his fourth season leading the program. He is also B-B-E's Industrial Technology teacher in the same span.
"We had some hiccups that they worked through in the earlier practice matches. Everything worked exactly how we wanted it to in the fifth and final match."
