An unforseen mechanical problem during routine water tower maintenance (cleaning) in Brooten has led to an hours-long water outage across town on Tuesday, June 21. The issue arose around 10 a.m. today, and it appears that it will take at least a "couple more hours" until it's resolved, according to city staff.
At B-B-E, all activities have been canceled for today at the elementary school, and the day care is closing as of 1 p.m. Families have been notified.
Update: city staff is optimistic that the water issue should be resolved by 4 p.m. today (Tuesday).
Update: as of 4 p.m. today (June 21), the water pressure and water flow have been restored to water utility lines of Brooten.
