In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 30, the Brooten Pavilion was hit by a bout of vandalism. The damage was limited to the floor and kitchen counter top, and city staff is currently assessing how bad the damage is.
This web article will be updated as more information is provided by law enforcement on Thursday, July 1.
*Update on July 1: an individual has come forward confessing to the committing of the vandalism. This person is not from Brooten, and the confession came via a central Minnesota police department outside the B-B-E school district. That's all we have for the public on that. It is now a matter between the individual's family, the Brooten city council and the Belgrade-Brooten Police Department.
