Household Hazardous Waste pick-up is Wednesday, June 17
Two important events are coming to Brooten in the next week. The first is on a week day, while the other is on the weekend. They are the types of events that can be easily missed, as they happen just once a year.
Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste pick-up: Wednesday, June 17 at the elementary school parking lot from 1 to 3 p.m. It's clean-up time for your property! This is a chance to get rid of hazardous and nuisance products lying around your home, garage or place of business. Come take advantage of Stearns County's household hazardous waste collection. With questions, call the county's Environmental Services department at 320-656-3613.
Brooten city "spring" clean-up: normally done in May, this is now happening on Saturday, June 20 after being delayed a few weeks due to COVID-19 precautions. This will also be just a two-hour window of time. The drop-off time is between 8 and 10 a.m. that morning next to the city garage and Brooten Pavilion.
Senior citizens and handicapped residents are encouraged to contact the city office and arrange pick-up for what they want to get rid of. They can provide their payment to city staff when it is picked up. City hall's phone number is 320-346-2524.
A list of acceptable items for both events will be added to this web article.
