Election 2018: Belgrade mayor candidate Rick Tschida

Below is a brief Q and A with Belgrade Mayor Rick Tschida, who is seeking another term this fall.

Family: I've been married to my wife, Rose, for 46 years. Our Children are Angie and Chris. We have three special grandsons, Zachery, Daniel & Jared.

Occupation: I have been serving the Belgrade area for 45 years as an electrician.

Civic/office experience: first elected to the Belgrade city council in 1987 until 1998. Then reappointed & ran again in 2000 for council until 2010. Have been 

mayor for eight years.

What are some wins and successes Belgrade has had in recent years? Our new water plant was a big improvement, plus an updated waste water system. Also, the annexed area northwest edge of city for the Menards expansion. Plus the rebuilding of the police department and and hiring our police chief in cooperation with the City of Brooten. We also recently purchased new fire truck retiring a 1973 model.

What are future goals of the town? Hopefully add area for more residences.  Possibly expand on our Business/ Industrial Park.
