Fourth of July week activities continue in Spicer

Events began on June 28 and continue through July 4 in Spicer

A long list of activities are in Spicer on Saturday, June 30. Hoops by the Lake at Saulsbury Beach runs until 4 p.m. Bloody Mary Bar at Zorbaz on Green Lake is from 11 to 4 p.m., and a boat parade on Green Lake starts at 3 p.m. The night includes "Rock Godz" at Zorbaz on Green Lake from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

One of Spicer's keynote events for the week of activities is their Saturday night street dance with Lost Highway. The opening act will be Matt Anderson at 7:30 p.m., and Lost Highway will play until 12:30 a.m. by Pirrotta Park. Tickets are $10, and you must be 21 and older and ready to show your ID! Tickets are available at the gate.

Sunday, July 1

The Sunday activities run long with action for everyone beginning at 7 a.m. with the Green Lake Road Race (start by Zorbaz). Dads Belgian Waffles will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Spicer American Legion. Church on the beach is at 9:30 a.m. at Saulsbury Park. Zorbaz will have a Bloody Mary Bar from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A Sunday "Brunch Cruise" on The Oaks will depart at the Zorbaz dock and run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cigar rolling is at Glacial Ridge Winery from 1 to 3 p.m., and Gig Noonan will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Johnny O'Neil's. Zorbas will have two music events to conclude the night: Red Dirt Road playing from 6 to 10 p.m., and a DJ with dancing from 10 p.m. to closing.

A three-day long Briggs and Motley Arts and Crafts show runs Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day) at the Highway 23 and County Road 10 juncture. The Grand Day Parade on the Fourth of July is at 10 a.m. with the Lake Avenue route.

Pony rides will also be held at the same times and location as the arts and crafts show (all three days).

Monday, July 2

On Monday, Devon Worley will perform from 6 to 10 p.m. at Zorbaz. Live music by Dan Reeb will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at O'Neil's. Karaoke music with Jim Meder will be at Zorbaz from 10 p.m. to closing.

Tuesday, July 3

On Tuesday, an antique flea market will be at Bell Tower Antiques on Highway 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The group "Moedell" will perform at Zorbaz from 3 to 7 p.m. Registration for the kids pedal pull begins at 6 p.m., and the event will be held at Progress Circle north of Baker Printing at 6:30 p.m. From 7 to 9:30 p.m., Dueling Duos will be performing at Glacial Ridge Winery. From 8 to midnight, the Red Letter Band will be at O'Neil's. Tuesday's activities wrap up with the group Contention performing at Zorbaz from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Wednesday, July 4

The Fourth of July activities on Wedneday begin with the Spicer Lions pancake breakfast at Pirotta Park in downtown Spicer from 7 to 10:30 a.m. An antique flea market continues at Bell Tower on Highway 23 from 9 to 5 p.m. The grand day parade is at 10 a.m., and live music by Betty Danger will be at O'Neil's from noon to 3 p.m.

The Fourth of July wraps up with fireworks at dusk fired off at Saulsbury Beach.
