For the third time in team history, the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team is heading to the Sweet 16 round of the Class C state tournament. The Regal Eagles amateur baseball team is heading to the Class C state tournament for the first time since 1997 and 12th time in team history. The Silverstreaks had defeated Elrosa twice in the regular season series, winning 4-2 on May 15 in New Munich and then by a 2-0 score last Sunday (July 24) in Elrosa. A total of 58 runners enjoyed and/or endured the Bonanza Valley Days Walk/Run event held on Saturday morning, July 9, 2016. The course covered two miles, starting and ending on the southeast corner of the lot of the former Brooten and B-B-E Senior High school. The last undefeated teams in the Stearns County League met for a great baseball game in Elrosa on Wednesday, June 29. The Elrosa Saints hosted the Farming Flames in a Little Dipper contest, in which the Flames overcame a 4-2 deficit in the third inning to come out with a 5-4 win. A topsy-turvy, back-and-forth affair played out on Sunday afternoon (May 1) as the Elrosa Saints and Spring Hill Chargers resumed their storied amateur baseball rivalry at Chargers Field.
