The Pope County Farm Bureau joined forces with dozens of area businesses to host a wildly successful Breakfast on the Farm event on Labor Day, Monday, September 5, at Rolling Forks Vineyard of rural Glenwood. Fellowship is an important part of the daily mission of Trinity Lutheran church of Grove Lake. Their church recently held their Fall Festival last Sunday on a sunny, picture-perfect, albeit somewhat warm, fall day. After serving about 90 meals a year ago with a drive-through only event, this year church members were thrilled to have 135 children and adults enjoy both the chance for dine-in gathering or the drive-through option. Come one, come all for free potatoes from R.D. Offutt Farms! On September 17 and 18, the R.D. Offutt Brooten farm team is inviting fellow neighbors and members of the community to an "all-you-can-dig party," at the upcoming Potato Field Days. On Sunday, August 21 at the Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association old log church in rural New London/Sunburg, Marlin Henjum spoke about his new book, Wheat King, that has just been released.
