  • Stabbing at domestic disturbance in Belgrade

    Very early on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 01:35 hours, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a domestic disturbance call in the city of Belgrade. A Sheriff's Deputy arrived on scene about one minute later and found two subjects actively fighting in the residence. A 38-year old male that lived in the residence sustained multiple stab wounds, one that struck a lung, and was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.   • Humane Society reports dogs taken from homes in Glenwood, Brooten areas

    The Pope County Humane Society staff have reported that dogs south of Glenwood and in the Brooten area are being taken from their homes when they are outside unattended. Staff are asking dog owners to be alert and keep an eye on pets. “Some are making it to the shelter, but not all of them,” said PCHS manager Nancy Erickson. “We have been informed by some of the owners that the dog’s collar and ID tags have been removed.” If you find any dogs or if you’re missing one, please call PCHS at 320-634-4761....

    The life of Dawn (Glesne) Larson changed in an instant in a motorcycle accident on July 24 on Highway 10 near Royalton. The motorcycle, driven by 43-year old Thomas Knott of Royalton, crashed into the ditch. Knott left Larson in the ditch and put the motorcycle back on the highway.     On Sunday, November 1, the combined congregations of Trinity Lutheran in Grove Lake and St. John's Lutheran in Villard, packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. The group filled 61 shoeboxes with items like: notebooks, pencils, crayons, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, washcloths, shirts, underwear, toys, hair items, stuffed animals, and candy.
