It was bound to happen with spotty Internet service and pushing things to the last minute at The Voice. On the early hours of Wednesday, June 8, a network error caused the June 9 issue of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper to lose its classified and back pages. Initial publishing directions were sent, delivered and received to and by the printing press for a 12-page issue, but while publishing took place, two extra pages were added. This was the first major printing error under the current ownership of the newspaper. It was an error caused on...

For a period of 10 minutes after the sirens began, the wind blew at around 10 to 15 miles an hour as a dark, ominous cloud developed to the southwest. In a...

The Belgrade city council learned at Monday's (April 18) meeting that the city recently won a judgement in conciliation court against former apartment tenants. This puts the tenants on the hook for over $11,000 of unpaid rent plus extensive damages to the dwelling, all of which took place during the pandemic when the city was unable to legally evict them. The legal process is far from over, as the city now must file district court documents and a writ of execution on filing liens against wages...

The Belgrade, Brooten and Elrosa zip code areas posted a two for new COVID-19 cases in the April 21 report by the Minnesota Department of Health. The two new cases were from the Belgrade zip code area. This ends a streak of three weeks in which the MDH reported no new COVID-19 cases for these zip code areas. The last COVID-19 case was posted in the March 24 report. At this point, an educated guess says that any MDH case reported is due to mandatory testing taking place at health care facilities...
