The Belgrade-Brooten police department finished 2022 with a total of 1,837 incident complaint reports (ICRs) on the book. This represents about a six percent increase from 2021, when the total was 1,731 between the two towns. Belgrade-Brooten Police Chief Casey Jansky reported to the BB police board that new Automatic Electronic Defibrillators (AEDs) are in service. Sugar beet harvesting has become a time-honored tradition each fall across the Bonanza Valley area and beyond. The method used consists of two separate machines, one that cuts the top off the plant and the other that digs them up and lifts them into a storage hopper for transport. In this rare gem of a video, the official start of the Centennial celebration in Brooten began with a flag-raising ceremony in front of the former Brooten high school.
