The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Pep Band traveled to Morris on Monday, Feb. 29 to follow the B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team to the sub-section finals. Every year the Central Minnesota Conference gives four Distinguished Service awards to individuals at the eight member schools who display outstanding volunteer service for activities offered by CMC schools. The 26th annual Sno-Daze coronation and games were held on February 2 at the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school. In a truly terrific and inspiring performance today at the 12th annual Eden Prairie Eagle Speech Invitational, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa speech team took first place honors in the Class 1A division. The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa speech team has a storied history and has been a force among area schools this entire century. Twice since 2012, B-B-E's state entrants in the Class 1A state speech meet have catapulted the team to a ranking of seventh based on their cumulative performances. The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa school board approved the fiscal year 2016 levy at Monday’s regular meeting at the high school. The local levy, which will help fund operations for the 2016-17 school year, is set to include a 7.74 percent increase from last year. The biggest source of the increase stems from the Long-Term Facility Revenue category of $107,630. This is a new funding stream approved by the state legislature.
