    A storied chapter in the history of the town of Brooten has come to a close. John O. Bohmer has passed away, as he was reunited with his first wife, Joyce, dying peacefully at his home in Florida on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Bohmer has served as chairman of the board of directors of Bonanza Valley State Bank from 1954 until his passing.     The Sunburg Trolls Car Club hosted their most successful Labor Day show in the group's history on Monday. Turnout exceeded 340 registered vehicles, which topped last year's record turnout of 322.     Come one, come all for free potatoes from R.D. Offutt Farms! On September 17 and 18, the R.D. Offutt Brooten farm team is inviting fellow neighbors and members of the community to an "all-you-can-dig party," at the upcoming Potato Field Days.
