The 45th annual Bonanza Valley Days town celebration is underway in Brooten! The weekend kicked off with an outdoor church service on Thursday night in the city park that was led by Pastor Steve Bovendam of Brooten. A crowd of almost 40 attended worship and heard God's Word in a beautiful setting with fabulous weather - a light breeze, little humidity and a terrific sunset off to the west. It rotates among the B-B-E area churches each year. The Brooten Community Church will host this worship service in 2018. The Terrace Mill Foundation is excited to host their annual Fourth of July Family Fun Picnic on Tuesday, July 4 at the scenic and historic Terrace Mill. The picnic is a "bring your own picnic" event starting at 5 p.m., and coffee and lemonade will be provided. The first BVD event of 2017 will be a "worship in the park" service on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the city park.
