The Brooten Community Church ties its local origins back to Peter Mastbergen, who migrated from Sheldon, Iowa, to a farm five miles south of Brooten in 1914. The last undefeated teams in the Stearns County League met for a great baseball game in Elrosa on Wednesday, June 29. The Elrosa Saints hosted the Farming Flames in a Little Dipper contest, in which the Flames overcame a 4-2 deficit in the third inning to come out with a 5-4 win. Staff and students at the Jaguar Kids Connection and Tri-Valley/Head Start programs, located at the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa elementary school, held an Independence Day parade on Friday, July 1. They lined up at the elementary boulevard and traveled down the sidewalk on Highway 55 before turning north on Main Street.
