    Due to the vendors being unavailable in July, and due to the continued uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bonanza Valley Days in Brooten will not be held this summer. While organizers are disappointed about this, they are excited about hopefully resuming BVD with the usual excitement we are accustomed to for July 2021.     On Tuesday, May 5, Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) is releasing an updated budget projection for the current biennium, Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021. Minnesota's budget and economic outlook has significantly worsened since the coronavirus pandemic. A deficit of $2.426 billion is now projected for the current biennium, which is almost a $4 billion change compared to the February forecast.     On Wednesday, May 6, Minnesota Department of Health officials quietly admitted an important point that major media has not picked up on. In their statewide media briefing, MDH officials quietly admitted that most new COVID cases this week are with people who don't speak English or have a hard time understanding English. (Their words) They are workers at meat processing plants, or they are family members of those workers. At one meat packing plant in Minnesota, 58 languages are spoken.     This has been building up for the past three weeks, and this week it is official: this newspaper family has ended our support for Governor Tim Walz and his administration's approach to the COVID virus.
