A major street improvement and sewer/water improvement project is underway in Brooten. Unpaved and partially-paved streets across town are getting new or upgraded overlay. Milling and grinding started near downtown Brooten on April 30. New sewer/water lines are going in at certain streets and alleys. Brooten may soon have a senior and / or community housing project underway as soon as this coming fall. Developer Cody Nelson recently told city hall that he is still interested in developing empty city lots into apartment or duplex-style housing. The Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team got off to a terrific start to the 2019 season on Sunday, April 28. The Saints traveled to neighboring division rival Greenwald and came home with a 16-2, seven-inning win. Elrosa throttled their way to a 9-0 first inning lead.
