The Spanish department will have more offerings at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, as the school is set to utilize more ITV (Interactive Television) beginning in the 2016-2017 school year. The hand-quilted quilt shown is being sold by raffle as party of a full day of activities in Sunburg for their 12th annual Syttende Mai celebration on May 15. The quilt measures 88 inches high by 104 inches in width and will be on display at the Lake Region Bank or Kultur Hus in Sunburg. Next week's newspaper will include more detailed information on that day's schedule. (Last week's issue incorrectly said that the quilt is being auctioned, but it is being sold by raffle.)...
Four individuals from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in three categories earned spots in the Class 1A state finals at the state speech meet on April 15. These four plus four other teammates competed at the big show at Lakeville North high school. In second place was junior Molly Tengwall in storytelling. This is the second year in a row that she has earned a state medal. Last year she also took second place in that category. In sixth place was senior Alyssa Dalen in the category of Original Oratory....
The annual Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Prom is being held on Saturday, April 30. The dance will be held for the first time in school history at the Brooten Pavilion. The theme is "A Night to Remember", and Post-Prom will be held at the B-B-E elementary school. B-B-E was one of at least five area schools holding prom on this night.
