Seven members of the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa speech team earned high honors at the Central Minnesota Conference meet on March 22 at Pierz high school. One of the seven, sophomore Jesse Westaby, earned one of the 13 individual conference titles that night. Westaby won the 2018 CMC title in the Humorous category. The Sunburg Fire Department hosted their spring Ham and Turkey Bingo night on Saturday, March 24 at the community center/fire hall. Over 85 participants were on hand. See video below of clips from the final round of bingo, a blackout round....
During a full-blown spring snow storm on Tuesday, April 3, Santa Claus made a stop in Brooten to check and see if everyone has been behaving themselves in the Bonanza Valley! The area received anywhere from five to eight inches of snow on Monday and Tuesday this week. It has been anything but enjoyable! But seeing the jolly ol' man dressed in his red suit was a sight to see....
