The newest COVID-19 weekly new case count figure has fallen to a 16 in the February 17 report, representing a 27-percent decline in new cases on a week-over-week basis compared to the figure of 22 posted in the February 10 zip code report. In the February 17 COVID-19 zip code report, the Minnesota Department of Health posted a 16 for new case counts in the Belgrade 56312, Brooten 56316 and Elrosa 56325 zip codes. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school hosted the 32nd annual Sno-Daze coronation at Olson Auditorium on Tuesday, February 15. Students in grades 6 through 12 plus staff filled the seats and enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining ceremony. In an action-packed game of Pictionary, all sorts of pictures were drawn on a SmartBoard on the auditorium stage. Emcees for the ceremony were juniors Drew Thompson and Ella Halvorson. It's a back-to-back performance for the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars wrestling team after they won the Section 5A championship on Saturday, February 19 at Benson high school. It's the second straight season that the Jaguars will compete in the state tournament. The Jaguars, seeded No. 1 in Section 5A, defeated No. 2-seeded and No. 5-ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 45-17. It was a big statement win for the Jaguars after they also throttled No. 4-seeded Minneota 47-20 in the earlier match....
