For the third year in a row, the No. 8-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars wrestling team has advanced to the Section 5A Final Four round. They did so by defeating No. 5-seeded Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 46-19 in the section quarterfinals on Wednesday, February 13. The 30th Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Sno-Daze week was held February 11-16 with dress-up days over a five-day period, the King and Queen coronation plus a host of other activities culminating with a semi-formal dance on Saturday. Seniors Riley Lenarz and Kenzie Thieschafer were crowned king and queen on Tuesday at the Sno-Daze coronation ceremony. Ziemer Auction Service of New London is now taking consignment items for their annual Sunburg (spring) Consignment Auction to be held Saturday, March 30 beginning at 9:30 a.m. The location will again be at the Glacial Plains Elevator facility on the north side of town. The Bonanza Valley area was hit with another round of snow on Wednesday, February 20. Starting around 3 a.m. and continuing past noon, the area received at least eight inches of snow. Fortunately, the wind did not get bad, although Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa schools was closed for the day. Travel on rural roads on both Wednesday and Thursday (Feb. 21) was difficult.
