A member of the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Class of 2002 has passed away. Courtney Ann Mithaugen, age 40, died on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Fairview Southdale Hospital, Edina. Memorial services will be held at St. Luke's Church, Faribault on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. with a visitation at church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. At the Brooten city council meeting last Monday, January 13, Brooten Fire Department Secretary Thor Amundson provided the 2024 report. On the current roster of 28 fire department members, the longest-serving firefighter is Gary Olson with 46 years (start date of January 1, 1978). Next is Calvin Hanson with 41 years.
