Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, James (Jim) DeWayne Nelson, formerly of Spicer, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on April 8, in Fort Myers, FL. The Belgrade city council learned at Monday's (April 18) meeting that the city recently won a judgement in conciliation court against former apartment tenants. This puts the tenants on the hook for over $11,000 of unpaid rent plus extensive damages to the dwelling, all of which took place during the pandemic when the city was unable to legally evict them. The Belgrade, Brooten and Elrosa zip code areas posted a two for new COVID-19 cases in the April 21 report by the Minnesota Department of Health. The two new cases were from the Belgrade zip code area. This ends a streak of three weeks in which the MDH reported no new COVID-19 cases for these zip code areas.
