    In a case of felony theft by swindle in Pope County District VIII court in Glenwood on Tuesday, June 2, Jana Zenner was handed a sentence including five years of supervised probation plus restitution charges and community work service. The outcome came on the heels of a guilty plea submitted by Zenner in District VIII court on February 3, 2020. The Brooten Commercial Club continues to have unpaid debt with the Minnesota Department of Revenue as well as the Internal Revenue Service. The tax debt with Minnesota surpasses $17,450. The tax debt with the federal government tops $35,000.     Announced during a morning press conference on Saturday, May 30 by state leadership, Governor Tim Walz authorized the National Guard to "fully activate." The Minnesota National Guard is an organization of more than 13,000 Soldiers and Airmen.     On Tuesday, May 5, Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) is releasing an updated budget projection for the current biennium, Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021. Minnesota's budget and economic outlook has significantly worsened since the coronavirus pandemic.
